Blair was fortunate to return back to her native state of Arkansas where she has been in practice for nearly 25 years, first in her own practice at Pleasant Valley Ophthalmology and then at Little Rock Eye Clinic in their West office location. and went on to do further specialty fellowship training in Cornea and External Disease at the University of Texas, Southwestern, in Dallas. Blair then completed her ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. She was also elected to the honor societies of Phi Beta Kappa in college and Alpha Omega Alpha in medical school. Shorey Award, which is given to the medical school senior who most fully demonstrates the qualities of an ideal physician. As an honor bestowed by her peers in medical school, she was awarded the Winston K. She then worked as a nurse while completing a bachelor’s degree in microbiology at Fayetteville and then a medical degree from UAMS. Blair initially pursued pre-veterinary medicine at Oklahoma State until she switched to the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville where she changed majors and received an associate degree in nursing. He lives in Little Rock with his wife, Becca, and son, Max.Īfter graduating valedictorian from Smackover High School in southern Arkansas, Dr. Perin is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the Arkansas Ophthalmological Society. During fellowship, he learned a wide variety of surgical techniques for management of glaucoma and how to tailor his treatment approach to each individual patient.ĭr. At Duke, he gained experience treating patients with complex eye disease requiring multispecialty care. Perin completed a fellowship in Glaucoma at the prestigious Duke Eye Center. After a year in practice at Jones Eye Institute with a focus in glaucoma, Dr. Perin was selected as Resident of the Year and given the Academic Achievement Award and the Raymond and Mary Morris Ophthalmology Resident Award for recognition of accomplished research. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), followed by an ophthalmology residency at Jones Eye Institute at UAMS. He then received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, where he graduated with honors and was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society by his peers and to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended The University of Texas at Austin, earning a BS in Mathematics as part of the Dean’s Scholars Honors Program and graduating with high honors. Perin is a board-certified ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist. Lydia enjoys spending time with her twin sons, Caleb and Taylor, as well as boating, hiking and making candles.ĭr. She received the Golden Apple Award for residency training during her fellowship. After medical school, she remained at Washington University to complete a residency in ophthalmology and fellowship training in glaucoma.ĭuring her residency she was the 2003 recipient of the Pepose Young Investigator Award and the DUAG (Deutsche Uveitis-Arbeitsgemeinschaft) International Award in Clinical Uveitis in Berlin, Germany, for her research on inflammation in the eye. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Washington University in St. Lane attended Vanderbilt University where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Louis, Mo., in 2004, and has been practicing ophthalmology in Arkansas since then.ĭr. She completed her subspecialty fellowship training in glaucoma at Washington University in St. Lane is board certified in ophthalmology by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma.
